aside from that, most wideband gauges offer a digital readout of exact lambda values or a/f values which is the most valuable tool you can have in assessing how your motor is running. basically they only help a tad if you see the gauge always stuck on lean or rich but dont tell you HOW lean or HOW rich.Ī true wideband will read from 1-5 volts, thus being able to be much more accurate and less susceptible to oscillating the way a narrow-band o2 sensor does. this is why these gauges tend to fluctuate so much and generally dont give anything close to an accurate reading. the problem with this is that since its such a small spectrum that even the slightest change in voltage will send the gauge reading from pig rich to very lean. AEMs wideband air/fuel gauge is easy to install, easy to read, and accurate within 0.1 AFR, thanks to the included Bosch wideband O2 sensor. usually the higher the voltage, the leaner the readout on the gauge. Those a/f gauges are pretty much worthless and here's whyĪ narrow band 02 gauge will read off of the secondary o2 sensor, which reads data as a voltage figure, usually from 0.1-0.5 volts. AEM’s X-Series Wideband UEGO Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Controller Gauges are built upon unique, patent-pending X-Digital technology that makes them the fastest responding wideband air/fuel ratio controllers in independent testing against 17 other wideband UEGO air/fuel controllers.
